No School for Students Friday, April 27, 2018
Dear Pinnacle Family,
Educational institutions throughout Colorado are planning a statewide rally of educators at the Capitol on Friday, April 27th, to advocate for greater state funding, and thousands of citizens from across the state have indicated they would like to have their voices heard by our legislators. Over the past few days, several Pinnacle staff have voiced their desire to participate in this event.
The lack of available staffing on Friday will greatly impact our school's ability to provide a productive learning environment. With that said, the Pinnacle Charter School will be canceling all classes for students on Friday, April 27th to allow families, staff, and students to express their feelings to our state Legislature. This day will remain a workday for all Pinnacle staff and employees. Any staff that will be participating in the event will be utilizing a personal day.
Here are some additional details about Friday, April 27th that you should know:
- Field trips and activities originally scheduled during the school day are canceled.
- After-school athletics and activities will proceed as scheduled unless you hear differently from the school.
- Music events will proceed as scheduled.
- Cubs Den will be open. Please reach out to Shannon Montes to make arrangements.
Please know that we do not make this decision lightly. We know that this change may cause an inconvenience and burden to families and we always take this impact into consideration when making these kinds of decisions. Our staff members are passionate about providing the best education possible for our students and we want to support them as they have an opportunity to be a voice in this conversation.

Family Literacy Night
Family traditions of storytelling have positive influences on children’s language and reading. Pinnacle School staff value and respect what you as parents, grandparents, and friends offer children about family traditions and cultural history. Family Literacy Night celebrates the oral traditions of storytelling. Knowledge is passed from one generation to another through storytelling. Cultures are known to have strong oral traditions expressed through storytelling, poetry, proverbs, riddles, jokes, and songs.

Please make every effort to avoid absences on Monday, October 2nd. We need every student here on this day and there will be many fun activities to participate in. All students Kindergarten through 12th Grade are allowed to dress down for free.
